Crop an image

Use the crop tool to remove part of an image.

Do you have a photo with something in it that you don't want? Or maybe you just want to change the composition of the picture? You can easily crop an image to get rid of unwanted parts or to make it look the way you want.

Just a heads up, the crop feature is only available on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

The steps to crop a design

The process is pretty similar whether you're using an Apple device or an Android device:

  1. Download the app.

‍

  1. On the Create page, select Your Content.

‍

  1. Select the design you want to crop.

‍

  1. If you haven't added your design yet, select Create new and upload a photo.

‍

  1. Select the settings for the foreground object.

‍

  1. Select Edit Cutout.

‍

  1. Tap on the crop icon at the top.

‍

  1. Adjust the edges of the crop box to remove the parts of the image you don't want. The area inside the box is what will remain after cropping.

‍

  1. Tap Done.

‍

  1. Use the handles to resize and move the cropped image on the background.

‍

  1. If your image has an AI-generated background, select Background and then Regenerate Background. You'll need to do this every time you change the foreground objects so the AI can redesign the background to match.

  1. Tap the back icon to finish.

‍

PhotoCut will save your edited image, and you can find it in Your Content.
